Fun Facts
When I'm not studying or volunteering, I love to spend as much time outside as I can. I grew up exploring the state parks surrounding Portland, Oregon, and am doing my best to experience all the wild places of Colorado. I hope to someday hike all of Colorado's 14ers, though I've only completed a few so far! I also love to ski backcountry and ride horses.
About Me
I am a junior undergraduate at the University of Denver, double majoring in biology and psychology, minoring in chemistry, and have math experience through upper-level calculus. As a member of the University Honors Program, I have consistently appeared on the Dean's list, with a current biology major GPA of 3.8. I have been fortunate to be recognized as a Pioneer Scholar, Global Cherrington Scholar, and Delta Gamma Academic Award recipient. I hope to pursue a career in medicine or research.
Experience
I first realized my passion for teaching as an instructor and camp counselor for horseback riding. Throughout my academic career, I have been able to apply my dual passions for learning and teaching by taking the initiative to set up study groups with my peers and facilitate discussions at my school's tutoring centers. I am so excited to be able to both learn and teach at Frog Tutoring, where I can bring my experience to help students of all levels.
Approach
As someone who has consistently struggled academically, I identify with anyone who wants to learn but feels that they don't have the right tools. I believe that any student can achieve their academic goals with the right mindset, and I base my approach around positive encouragement and teaching persistence in order to build confidence and independent critical thinking skills. I teach both subject-specific skills in math and science, and general study skills for success in all areas.
