Fun Facts

Something about me that people find very interesting is that I love to read and do mathematical problems for fun in my spare time! I also love to play sports such as Volleyball and Cheerleading. Another spectacular hobby of mines is braiding hair.

About Me

I am a senior at Rust College, majoring in Political Science. I have high hopes of attending law school once I graduate and then I plan to go back to graduate school where I can obtain a Master's Degree in Mathematics. With my Law Degree I plan to become a criminal defense attorney or the district attorney (I know they are total opposites LOL). I also plan to start my own Mathematics Tutoring Program to help students who really need the help.

Experience

As a tutor with Peer Power Incorporation in Memphis, TN, I had to opportunity to tutor students that attended the same high school with me in mathematics. I had the opportunity to continue doing this once I graduated high school, but the hours conflicted with me going to college as a Freshman. I also was a tutor at Rust College my freshman and sophomore year in Mathematics for some of my fellow peers. This past year I tutored a couple of students in Elementary Statistics.

Approach

As a tutor my approach to teaching is to show the student the multiple ways of figuring out the problem. I am not one who give my students answers, I am one who would rather show them how to get the answer step by step, by "HAND" and writing it out rather than using the calculator. This way if they are ever in a situation where they do not have a calculator on hand, they will still know how to solve the problem. One thing I would like to stress more is the remembrance/importance of formulas.
