Fun Facts
Since I enrolled at DePaul when I was only 17 and I am planning on graduating this November, I will be just over 21 when I graduate from college. I would consider myself a bit of a movie buff, and I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music. I like to travel and I have visited quite a few countries internationally including India and England, and I am hoping to have the chance to travel Europe next year. I enjoy the city life, but at times I like to escape to a state park and enjoy the outdoors!
About Me
I would say my most distinct character traits are that I am laid back and that I am funny. I enjoy making people laugh, and for me this has been an important tool that has made chicago">tutoring a lot easier and a lot more fun. I also like to keep my work organized so that it is easier for me to understand. All in all, I know that people have always considered me to be a helper, and I know people can count on me for help when they are unsure about something.
In the past I have enjoyed a few memorable chicago">tutoring experiences, my first being in high school when I worked with a middle school girl who needed help with homework in a few subjects. More recently I have been involved in chicago">tutoring as a chicago">tutor for the DePaul University Biology Department, where I have been helping general biology students with basic biology questions. Overall I feel like my past experience has given me a much better idea of how to present information to others in a way that makes sense, and I think my experience makes me more confident about my chicago">tutoring ability.
My approach to chicago">tutoring really revolves around finding a way to teach the material that is most fit to a particular student. I recognize that each student has a way of both learning the material and approaching a concept, and I find it most effective when I approach a problem from the same perspective as the student. Rather than taking over a lesson, I also find it important to listen to the student, and make the chicago">tutoring experience all about helping them learn.
