Fun Facts

My parents told me that the first word I said as a baby was "Electricity," in my main tongue, Pashto. One fun fact is that I went to school to become an Electrical Engineer. I have a freckle on my left eye and I can move my ears.

About Me

I am an Electrical Engineer for a Independent Power Producing Company. I am on the development side of the company, in which we develop Solar, Battery, and Gas Turbine Power Plants. Currently, am studying to pass my Fundamental of Engineering Exam and hope to continue on to take my Professional Engineer Exam. I have a passion for the sciences, technology, philosophy, and religion. I also love to play Basketball and Ping Pong. In my spare time, I love to see friends and hangout.

Experience

At Sacramento State, I was a part of a club called MESA Engineering Program which aimed at helping increase the percentage of low-income students graduating in Engineering programs. In my senior year of College, I volunteered to be a mentor to a Freshman Engineering Student. I helped with time management, getting around school campus, and often tutor in subjects they struggled in.

Approach

My high school Math teacher Mr. Peoples helped me to understand Math in a different way. He would always tell a joke before class and provide a warm up problem that was applicable to the real world. He made Math fun and taught it in a way that we could understand the concept while also thinking about real world problems. This technique helped me to understand how we use Math everyday and can apply it in many decision making events.
