Fun Facts
I have eaten frog legs, cow tongue, grasshoppers, and crackers wrapped in seaweed. (Traveling to different countries is one of my favorite things and trying new and interesting food is just part of the experience!). Aside from traveling, I enjoy adventures and being outside. I completed my first triathlon and a 250 mile bike ride along the North Shore of Minnesota this summer with several of my friends. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, running, and creating scavenger hunts for my friend
About Me
In May, I graduated from the University of Minnesota where I was on the Dean’s List for the 6 semesters! I received my degree in Global Studies with minors in Spanish and English as a second language. In the future, I plan to return to school to pursue my masters in teaching English as a second language to elementary and high school students. I hope to combine my love of teaching and other cultures with my passion for recently arrived immigrants to the US!
In high school, I had the opportunity to work as a minneapolis">tutor for middle school students. It was here that I became interested in minneapolis">tutoring. In college, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Mexico for two semesters where I worked as a minneapolis">tutor for elementary school children in math and reading-comprehension/minnesota/minneapolis">reading comprehension. Aside from my experiences abroad, I also served as an aid in a high school classroom during my time in college
As a minneapolis">tutor, I believe that understanding where my students are coming from and listening to them allows me to best meet their needs. I first take the time to get to know my student’s learning style, personality, and specific needs and then tailor my lessons to make them as relevant to each individual as possible. I feel it is my responsibility not to give them the answers but to ask questions that guide them to the correct solutions and teach them study skills that they can use the rest of their lives!
