I played football all throughout high school although these days I don't have much time to exercise. I'm the youngest child of three. People say that I'm genuine and care-free.

About Me

I'm a sophomore physics major at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I excel in the classroom, and I'm involved all around campus. My main focus outside of schoolwork is Rhodes Engineering, a student organization I founded to give students the opportunity to develop their skills and create. I'm planning to minor in math yet I take classes in range of subjects including Spanish, computer science, and philosophy. I want to become an engineer.

Experience

I've had a lot of experience with kids through volunteering and a job at the YMCA. My most recent experience has been working with my professor on his research and leading Rhodes Engineering. Our current project for the club is building an aircraft that can be deconstructed to be flown piece by piece in another aircraft. I also have a job as a teaching assistant in the fundamental physics lab at Rhodes.

Approach

I really enjoy teaching people because each person has their own way of finding solutions. In order to get through to some people, I have to approach a problem with an open mind and lead them to the path which will help them approach an answer. I believe much in critical thinking and independence when it comes to learning so I will never simply give someone an answer. The whole point is that they learn how to explore problems and find solutions themselves.
