I love to motivate people, challenge them to think Way outside the box. I want to help girls keep their passion for science, as they grow older. I want to share my extreme enthusiasm for all science with fresh young minds. I came from humble beginnings and have accomplished unbelievable feats, and I can grow that passion in your students.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Illinois. I have been experimenting on plants since I was 3. I was able to explore the forests and wilderness as a child. I graduated with a biology teaching degree when I was 21, but there were no jobs available. I moved to the San Francisco area and continued post graduate education for 3 years in molecular biology and biochemistry. I became a pioneer in biotechnology, part of the first recombinant vaccine developed, breast cancer chromosome mapping and biochemistry

Experience

I have worked as a home bound teacher for students with injuries. It was so thrilling to see the students when grown. They thanked me for motivating them to pursue careers that they did not think they had the potential for accomplishing.

Approach

I will find a commonality with my students to ensure they understand the material and develop a passion for what they learn. Kicking a soccer ball can be used to show the biochemical reactions in the leg. YouTube is a valuable tool I will use to show how neurochemical signals travel in the brain, as well as other functions. I have a passion for all science and for motivating people.
