Fun Facts
I was born in Eastern Europe yet I have spent almost half of my life in United States. At first I lived in Bay Area, California; a few years later I joined my family in Memphis, Tennessee. I love to explore the Southern lifestyle, and in general love to travel and immerse myself in various cultures! Pets, especially dogs, always bring great joy to my day.
About Me
I obtained my Master degree in Statistics at the University of Memphis in May 2015; my final GPA was 3.75. My Bachelor degree is from the University of California, Berkeley, where I majored in Mathematics and Psychology and graduated with Honors. I am aiming at becoming a Statistician working for a hospital such as St. Jude or Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. My other passion is tutoring students of all grade levels and helping them succeed in their academic endeavors.
Experience
My tutoring experience is very extensive. During the first part of my undergraduate years, I worked as a tutor in Language Arts at a community college. Later on, I worked as a Mathematics Teacher Assistant for a middle school. After graduating from UC Berkeley, I worked for over four years as a private tutor in Mathematics at Berkeley Parents Network. Most recently, during my graduate years, I was a Mathematics and Statistics tutor for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Memphis.
Approach
I have had the experience of both tutoring and teaching, and I can definitely say that I enjoy tutoring more. I love to be able to give my undivided attention to one student at a time and thus build a strong rapport with each and everyone of them. Of course, everyone is different, and I learn to adjust my tutoring style accordingly. I aim at making the student comfortable communicating what s/he thinks or feels, helping him/her overcome any fear of the subject and reach his/her full potential.
