About Me

I am currently a junior at chicago">Loyola University Chicago. I have a 3.77 GPA. I am working on getting my bachelors in Education. When I graduate I hope to become a certified teacher.

I have a lot of experience chicago">tutoring children. In high school during freshman year I worked as a chicago">tutor at a math and reading center called Kumon. After that, I volunteered at my old middle school as a chicago">tutor, teaching students concepts in math and science. Later in college freshman year I worked as a teacher’s aide at a charter school in Bucktown. At the same time I was volunteering as a chicago">tutor at an organization called Family Matters where they chicago">tutor children from under resourced families. Last year I worked at Village Leadership Academy as an after school chicago">tutor. I have loved educating students all my life and hope to make a career of it one day.

When I was in first grade I was not very good at math and reading. I was a slow learner and I was too shy to ask for help. Because of this, I was placed in an after school chicago">tutoring program. It was here that I got the extra attention that I needed. Not long after, I became the best student in the class and was placed in gifted math and reading programs. I believe that no students are dumb. Some students just need more attention than others, and I believe that if students get the right attention that they need they will without a doubt thrive. My approach to chicago">tutoring is to create a comfortable environment where students are not afraid to ask questions. I make every effort to ensure that students do not feel intimidated or threatened.
