Fun Facts

I have traveled to Mexico on a few occasions and took a study with 30 other educators. It really helped me learn about New Mexico and Mexico history and help me understand my students that were coming to NM from another country and learning a new language.

About Me

I am a retired Dual Language teacher and have many years experience teaching elementary students to learn English as a Second Language. I hope to continue learning about how students learn a new language and am taking continuing education classes as well.

Experience

I have 30 years experience in Elementary Education and also teaching Adult Literacy. My tutoring experience has helped me work in small groups and one-on-one in their homes, schools, and libraries. The experience I have would help me transfer over to Frog Tutoring program to meet new students and parents.

Approach

I am a visual learner, so I use as many visuals as possible in sharing with students and also adults. I have also worked at Explora Children's and Science museum, so utilize many inquiry based learning techniques I have learned there as well. Students seem to enjoy science and history and so do I as well. I also like to bring in their background knowledge in every area of learning to help them succeed.
