Fun Facts

When I was 10 years old, my mom bought me an activity workshop(pencils, paper, crayolas, scissors, glue etc) set. I still remember getting home and writing creative notes to my family. I wrote reminders, happy birthday cards, get well cards, friendly notes etc and posted them all around the house. My family enjoyed looking forward to my notes posted around the house. I knew then that the art of creating and learning was an area I enjoyed most. My experience as a professional tutor comes within those experience. I have gained skills and experiences to tutor students in areas needed.

About Me

My name is Susana Toro, I am graduted students from CSUDH. I hold a Bachelors Degree under Spanish with a minor in Chicanos Studies. My hobbies are volunteering in varies programs such as reading to kids, Wadsworth elementary school and school trips. i also enjoy hiking with my two boys at lake peru a day out doors learning about nature. Reading books are also a hobby. I like to read books like novel, articles and mistery books.

My educational experienced have been in the education field for fifteen years as a Teacher’s Assistant and as a Preschool teacher, mentor. I have been a teacher assistance for 8 years, one year as a kindergarten teacher, three years as a supervisor at a charter schooland a years as a mentor. Five years volunteering and working for a company as a tutor. My teaching experience has allowed me to experience the joy of teaching diverse student populations. I have significantly developed my teaching skills inside the classroom and also by pursuing a California Multiple Subject teaching Credential. My future goal is to obtain a Masters degree in a related field of education. Furthermore, I will continue to grow professionally as an educator by attending educational workshop.

My experience in the educational has been one that has significantly developed around the teaching skills inside and outside the classroom. I have gained great experience in the learning, so my interests as let me to pursued my goals as a tutor. I enjoy making a difference in the education of children.I recalled once a former student smiled at me and stated, "I can read" I knew i wanted to be a tutor. For me being the best tutor is someone as a mentor. My mentor will always be my english professor from CSUDH. She has motivated me to be the best english student. I listened closely, stayed after class and asked questions. My goal is to offer the same approach to the parent and child.
