About Me
I am a new nurse graduate seeking a career in the Emergency Department in the Washington, D.C. area. I have been on the Dean's List at George Washington University and am applying to the Master's program in Nursing fall 2016. I ultimately plan to be a Nurse Practitioner in Urgent Care Medicine.
Experience
I have taught Middle and High School Sciences including: General Science, Physical Science, Life Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and AP Biology for 6 years. I have also tutored students in science and math at the school I have worked.
Approach
I understand that each and every child learns differently and the key to understanding is discovering how a child learns. i attempt to approach learning as enjoyable and make it a point to celebrate the small accomplishments to continue encouraging the child to succeed. Helping a child understand how they learn not only allows me to help them in a subject specific area, but teaches them the tools they can apply to all subjects.

Biology I Tutoring
I have had exempted out of Introductory Biology in College. I taught AP Biology, the same course as Biology I in college, for 3 years.
Microbiology Tutoring
Microbiology was my major in my undergraduate studies, where I have averaged an A in these courses. I worked for several years addressing microbiological issues with the USDA.
Spanish I Tutoring
I minored in Spanish during my first undergraduate degree, having taken Spanish II, III, IV and several literature courses. I use Spanish on a regular basis in the hospital setting to communicate with patients and have created posters in Spanish for teaching self care.
Algebra Tutoring
I have taught Algebra I for 6 years in Middle and High School. I have also provided tutoring help to Algebra students for 4 years.
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I have taken Anatomy and Physiology I & II in college earning a A in both courses. I have recently graduated nursing school with a 3.8 GPA and have a good working knowledge of the subject.
