I played college soccer and continue to be an avid fan of the game. I love to ski, hike, and do many other outdoor activities. I am passionate about traveling and seeing the world.
About Me
I graduated from Trinity University in May of 2015, with a BS in biochemistry, and a minor in human communication. Through my undergrad studies I maintained a 3.5 GPA. Beginning in August of 2016 I will be attending medical school. I have conducted research in a variety of fields including cardiology, and nanotechnology.
Experience
I began tutoring students in high school, and have enjoyed it ever since, as I continued tutoring my peers throughout college. I have tutored in a wide variety of subjects, including many math and science courses. As a part of a collegiate soccer team, I would often tutor the underclassmen on the team on subjects they would miss while we were traveling to compete in games across the nation. This experience has equipped me with the skills to teach material in an easily comprehensible way.
Approach
Through a rigorous undergraduate education, I learned that learning is not always about working harder, but working smarter. Learning is a skill, and can be taught. The best way is not through rote memorization, rather developing skills and an actual understanding of the material, so memorization is not required. With this approach, tackling any subject matter becomes a lot more manageable. I will help the student learn how to learn, and therefore be able to master multiple subjects.
