Fun Facts
Being born in Germany but having Bosnian heritage has exposed me to many cultures at a young age. This spurred my interest in traveling and learning about new cultures and all the parts of them. Cuisine, music, and traditions are all fascinating to learn about and see the similarities and differences between cultures. Due to this interest, I love trying new restaurants, going to various art events, and visiting new places. I've traveled a lot but there's so much more to see for me.
About Me
I am a Senior at the University of Utah majoring in Chemistry with a Biological Sciences Emphasis. I have been on the Deans List every semester on my way to applying to medical school this year. My goal is to become an Ophthalmologist as eyes and eye health have been one of my long interests in my life. I love helping people and I've done so in various ways from tutoring to volunteering at hospitals to being the Student Director of Special Olympics Utah.
Experience
I have had many experiences in tutoring and in different academic levels. I have been a tutor for an after-school program at an elementary school. This taught me patience which is vital for a tutor to have. I have been a Teaching Assistant for Anatomy at my university. This class taught me preparation and how to properly communicate myself to others. I was also a Biology tutor at my university for Genetics and Cell Biology.
Approach
I have used the services of a tutor before and the way I have tutored is influenced from the ways I observed was most effective to me. This includes questions asked to the student because it will allow the student to make the connections required to understand the topic. I believe the tutor simply shows the path but allows the student to walk it themselves. Furthermore, starting a good relationship will allow the student to be more open to communication and better their study time.

I have received a grade of "A" in both Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Utah. I have also been a Teaching Assistant for Anatomy for a semester. I taught the cadaver lab as well as holding weekly office hours where I act as a tutor.
