About Me

I am a Biology Major at University of Texas at San Antonio. I've been on the President's List and Deans List for two years. I am a B.S./M.D. student in a 7 year medical program. I am finishing my second year here at UTSA and I will be attending medical school next year at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Experience

As a member of NHS in high school, I tutored students in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP English, AP Spanish, algebra and trigonometry. I had the opportunity to tutor students about 3 to 4 times a week during my junior and senior year of high school. I also tutored while in college in subjects such as General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biology.

Approach

My approach to tutoring is not simply giving all the answers to the student. Instead I would like to help the student understand how to get to the right answer and why it makes sense. Growing up, English was not my first language, I struggled to learn in school but my third grade teacher made a huge difference with me because she targeted the exact areas I was struggling in. Within a year I jumped two reading levels because of the way my teacher took time to really work with me.
