Fun Facts
A fun fact about me is that I have a passion for 80's trivia! I can typically work one to two comments involving music or movies into a conversation! I am also a human Wikipedia- words and languages are more than a hobby, more like a permanent quirky piece of my life! I enjoy creating photography out of random objects, singing in my car and spending time with my four beautiful nephews.
About Me
I graduated Summa Cum Laude , Phi Delta Kappa with a BA in Education, from Texas A&M Kingsville in 2008, and have worked with various school districts since then. I am eagerly looking forward to re- starting my double Masters degree in Psychology and ESOL. My ultimate goal is to be an advocate for at- risk students and their families, in addition to educating communities on how to better prepare for higher learning.
Experience
I worked as an Instructional Assistant in Special Education for four years, then as a professional classroom substitute for three years after I obtained my degree. I was employed as an at- risk core teacher in Special Education and English Language Arts for one year. I believe that working for Frog Tutoring continues to provide both myself and students the opportunity to achieve new heights!
Approach
Each student is different, even as they are essentially the same. I am able to break down the information in a personally tailored frame per student.
I coach students to first understand the reason the topic is being taught , then the concepts behind it.
Once a learner is comfortable with the basics, I am able to assist them in accepting responsible attitudes toward their goals and achieving them .
In order to be successful, students must take responsibility for their own learning.

Special Education
AP English Tutoring
I administered the AP English Exit exam for 12 th grade students at a NISD for three years. I acted as a classroom Substitute in an AP English classroom. I tutored AP English students at various times over four years.
AP History Tutoring
I administered the AP History Exit exam for 12 th grade students at a NISD for three years. I acted as a classroom Substitute in an AP History classroom. I tutored AP History students at various times over four years. My degree and professional experience in Special Education have provided me with the tools to break down any subject and provide appropriate remediation.
English Tutoring
I tutored and taught more than 200 students per term in English at various times over four years, and all of my students achieved a minimum of a 20- 30 point increase in their grade average. Geography Tutoring
I am proficient in creating maps and breaking down the information required to provide any student with a working understanding of Geography and how the globe in itself is more than just a group of continents! I have tutored students in Geography over a five year period. My degree and professional experience in Special Education provide me with the tools to break down any subject and provide the appropriate remediation.
History Tutoring
I acted as a classroom Substitute in a HS History classroom. I tutored History students at various times over four years. My degree and professional experience in Special Education have provided me with the tools to break down any subject and provide appropriate, successful remediation that ensures all students of reaching their educational goals.
Psychology Tutoring
Part of my degree in Special Education included 8 individual courses in Psychology. I tutored HS students in Psychology and the implementation of all Spec Ed lessons mandated that I use my experience in Psychology to achieve desired goals.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I am an avid reader and writer. My experience in Special Education classrooms and remedial tutoring in extensive. I am qualified and passionate about extending my knowledge and experience to all students who either need coaching or are in need of furthering their already solid reading base.

My writing skills are exemplary and I have a working knowledge of all components necessary to provide students with the skills needed to improve their wiring in all subjects areas. I have taught and tutored students in Spec Ed classrooms and in General Ed classes.
