Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I LOVE horses. In fact I ride competitively on my own and through the University of North Texas Equestrian team. I'm also passionate about and love playing the flute. I have done so for 11 years and it will always be a special part of my life. I enjoy learning and meeting new people, and hope to share my love of science with those around me.
About Me
I am a PhD Graduate Student at the University of North Texas. I am living my dream. Science has been my passion since early childhood. I have a Bachelors degree in Biology and minors in chemistry and spanish. I have the privilege to work in Dr. Warren Burggren's lab at UNT, which has afforded me great personal growth. My goal is to facilitate learning and personal growth in others, so they too can realize their dreams.
Experience
A pivotal point for me was the opportunity to work in Dr. Burggren's lab with his team at UNT. This experience opened my mind and built my confidence. I had a bit of a fear of learning the unknown. The encouragement, responsibility and challenges have afforded me the opportunity to grow as a student, a co-worker, and to embrace new challenges and learning in areas I may have not pursued otherwise. As a tutor, I will gladly share my experience to facilitate the academic success of those I tutor.
Approach
I struggled with reading and studying effectively prior to college. The first semester at UNT was an awakening. I realized that I would either sink or swim. I sought out and embraced guidance in areas that were a challenge to me, I developed great discipline and focus and made my studies a priority. As a tutor, I will help the student more effectively and efficiently build better study skills, and will offer positive encouragement that sometimes we have to work extra hard to realize our goals.

I LOVE to play my flute. I have been playing and performing flute for 11 years starting in the 6th grade continuing all throughout high school and into my college career. In high school I competed in various flute competitions such as all region and made the all region bands. I have the skills and motivation a young flute player needs to be successful in their flute playing career, and would love to teach young performers.
