Fun Facts
My passion is definitely the science of nursing, but I'm actually very good at English comprehension and grammar! I probably would have chosen to be an editor of some type if I wasn't going to be a nurse. I'm not a great singer, but I definitely love having a private concert in my car while I'm driving. In my free time, I like to spend time with friends, listen to music, and catch up on watch movies and shows on Netflix.
About Me
I'm a senior Nursing major at the University of Texas at Arlington. I eventually want to become a Nurse Practitioner if that's where my path leads me. Until I reach that point, I want to work in a cardiac/telemetry unit.
I currently work with my patients throughout my clinical experiences to help them heal and achieve their health goals. I love helping people.
With that being said, I strive to help the people I work with, students included, find their truest potential and achieve their goals.
Experience
I was an "as-needed" tutor to my peers back when I was in high school, but teaching comes naturally in the nursing profession. I have developed my teaching skills, especially within the last few months, as I've participated in study groups that give me the opportunity to teach test material to my peers. While in college, I have drafted test prep materials (flash cards, study guides, etc) that I have used while helping my peers understand test material better.
Approach
It's taken me some time to figure out what my learning style is, and I believe firmly that we succeed when we find what works best for us. As a tutor, I want to help my students discover how they will succeed. I want to help them develop good study skills that they can use and mold as they need throughout their education.

Anatomy Physiology II Tutoring
I excelled in this course when I took it in the Fall of 2014. I made a mid to high "A" on each of our 3 midterms and on our final. I understood this material inside and out, and can explain it proficiently to students that need help understanding it, too!
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I made a 97 in this course when I took it during my junior year of high school. My knowledge base has only increased, as I took the class again during my freshman year of college. I understand this material and can explain it proficiently to students that need help understanding it, too.
Study Skills Tutoring
I have learned through trial-and-error which methods are best to help study for and exceed on exams, and which methods are not effective whatsoever. I can offer many different methods to students, and they can use and modify these methods as they see fit.
Writing Tutoring
I was on the "Ready Writing" team during my senior year of high school, on which I competed at the district level. Every year of my schooling thus far has required me to take a writing course, which has helped me hone in on my skills even further.
English Tutoring
I have always been good at English--it's come naturally to me. Whether it's reading comprehension or writing composition, I'm good at picking apart literature to find hidden meanings, and I'm good at composing literature correctly and interestingly.
Study Skills Tutoring
I have tested different ways to study throughout my 5 semesters and 2 summer sessions in college. I have found a way that works best for me, but I can help students discover what their preferred method is. I will help students develop individualized study plans and test prep material that will help them be more successful in their studies.
