Fun Facts

In my free time, I am both a writer of true crime books and a tutor of students ages 3 through adult. I love Dicken's Christmas Fair, and am an authority on 19th century English history with a focus on Jack the Ripper.
In my free time, I am a Travel Agent, travel photographer, and archaeologist.

About Me

I specialize in Forensic Anthropology, Human Osteology, Archaeology, Forensics and Criminology, and I write true crime books by Robert Scott.
If/when I go back to school, I would like to get a Master's Degree in Criminal Psychology or Forensic Anthropology. Until then, the world is my classroom.

Experience

I have been teaching and tutoring students for 28 years. I spent 12 years teaching K-12 in both the public, private, and charter sector before focusing on private tutoring. I am well versed in over 72 subjects, including being certified and trained to teach Common Core subjects, Science, History, Writing, and Test Preparation. My favorite subject is Ancient History.

Approach

When I was in school, I was lucky enough to have two very dynamic teachers, who opened up the world of learning to me. As a tutor, I tailor my tutoring to each and every student. My teaching has a basis in the Saxon Method of teaching, with some Linda Mood Bell thrown in, but it is more than that. I teach not only the subject matter, but the tips, note taking, organization and study skills that make each student successful.

At this point, January 21st, 2016, I am teaching 5 students reading comprehension and spelling. In all cases, each student has a particular focus ares, how the issues impact them, and how to most easily correct the issue.
