I am a social person who enjoys reading, dancing, and watching movies. I was born in Austin and love this city very much. I am also very willing to share pictures of my dog.

About Me

I am a freshmen at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a Business Honors student at the McCombs School of Business. I like to be involved on campus and help the surrounding Austin community. I was admitted to schools such as Cornell, Berkeley, UCLA, Rice, NYU, and others. I consider myself very knowledgeable about the college admission process since my family did a substantial amount of research and I visited many campuses around the nation.

Experience

I tutored while I was in high school, mostly for math- though I enjoy history and english as well. I was in the International Baccalaureate program at my school, and did receive my IB diploma in addition to my high school diploma. I also tutored at my high school for SAT and ACT prep. Since I have attended Princeton workshops, Berkeley workshops, and had a private tutor myself- I have experience in terms of watching others teach and decide for myself what I thought was most helpful.

Approach

I think it is important to adapt to the student, but at the same time the best way to get better at anything is to practice. Doing practice problems and thinking critically with guidance is the best approach in my opinion. Students should be encouraged and feel confident in their abilities, it is a teacher's job to provide that environment. Even though some students have more or less natural ability than others, I think that their potential is the same in terms of achieving success academically.

Have always done well in English and was a high school debater and so am very articulate. I made a 98 on first college research paper. Good with critical analysis, literature, poetry, and other mediums. Always made an A in English- would love to tutor in this subject, especially at a higher level.

Made an A in every math class I have ever taken. Also took IB Math. Took Pre-Algebra in HS and my sister is currently in the class so I am knowledgeable about the material.

I took IB SL Psychology junior year of high school and made an A the entire semester. I have a thorough understanding of the basic material and know specific references to a plethora of studies and understand how to write essays/conduct basic psychological experiments.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Took IB English during 11th and 12th grade. Very strong command, scored well on IB exam, and great experience with essays.Made an A in every English class I have ever taken. I have had a high reading level for my entire life, and think that practice/disciple can help every student achieve better reading comprehension(with some guidance).

SAT Math Tutoring

I made a perfect score of the PSAT Math section and made a 780 on the SAT Math Section. I have been in classroom settings, private tutoring sessions, and small group environments and therefore know different techniques to teach SAT Math.

SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring

I made a 740 on the SAT Writing, and know the main concepts that the SAT tests over. I have been to tutoring sessions, big group sessions, and small group sessions and therefore know different techniques to teach SAT Writing.

Science Tutoring

I have taken all three sciences at a higher level in high school (through the IB program), and therefore have the qualification to tutor biology, chemistry, and physics. I took 2 years of biology, 2 years of physics, and 3 years of chemistry. I toook IB tests for Physics and Chemistry. I made an A in all of those classes.

Spanish I Tutoring

Took Spanish every semester of high school(through Spanish 5). Made a 6 out of 7 on my IB SL Spanish exam. Feel very confident I could tutor Spanish 1.

Writing Tutoring

Have very strong essay writing ability. Made a 98 on my first college research paper in an upper division history course. All English teachers have said I have strong persuasive abilities. I enjoy writing and have always made an A on writing assignments and English classes in general.

Spanish Tutoring

I have taken Spanish courses through Spanish 5. I made a 6 on my IB HL Spanish exam. I enjoy the material and am very proficient in the language. I also made an A throughout my Spanish career.

Elementary Math Tutoring

I have taken very advanced calculus and made an A in every class. In terms of elementary math, I believe that I can explain the basic concepts to elementary level students with patience and understanding.

Social Studies Tutoring

I have experience in many social sciences and made an A in all of them, even the higher level/advanced level classes. I believe that I can tutor elementary students social science concepts with patience and understanding.

ACT English Tutoring

Made a 34 on the English ACT. Made an A in all my English classes and have gone to other tutoring and know different methods to teach the English portion.

ACT Math Tutoring

I made a 35 on the ACT Math. I feel very comfortable with math and have tutored other students. I enjoy the material and know the common types of ACT questions.

ACT Reading Tutoring

I made a 33 on the Reading ACT. I have tutored this subject before and seen significant improvement. There are many techniques I think help students through the section with confidence and ease. I also made an A in every English class I have taken.

ACT Science Tutoring

I made a 34 in the ACT Science. I took 3 years of Chemistry, 1 year of Physics, 1 year of Biology, and 2 years of Medical Sciences. This section is about practice, and efficiency which I can help students practice and perfect.

PSAT Tutoring

My overall SAT score is a 2200, and I believe that I can help coach the PSAT. I understand that this is an important test and opportunity. My grade distribution for the SAT means that I have mastered all sections which gives me confidence that I can improve your child's PSAT score.
