Fun Facts
I'm the oldest of three boys, and my brothers names are Stone and Coal. I think we have the coolest names! I love to go hiking, dancing, and making new friends. Hot coco on a winter morning is definitely a favorite. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I'm a third degree black belt in four different styles of martial arts. Next year I'm going to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon, and. I'd like to specialize in spinal surgery since I fractured my back during freshman year.
About Me
I am a senior at The University of Texas, and will graduate this May. I am receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Medical Spanish. This is my second year on the Dean's List, and look forward to graduating in the top of my class. I am currently selecting which medical school I would like to attend this August. Before switching to a Spanish major, I was a mathematics major. I have always had a passion for math, and love to teach it to others.
Experience
As a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Physics National Honor Society at Klein Oak High School, I had the opportunity to develop leadership skills and learn how to effective work with others. Even though I had a "full-plate" with the organizations I was a part of, I was a proud graduate of the International Baccalaureate Program. I am on the UT IFC Judicial Board, as well as the Executive Board for Acacia.
Approach
I believe that seeing the situation from the other person's perspective is the most important facet of helping tutor a student. Identifying where the student doesn't fully understand how to solve a problem is the first step to helping find the solution to an equation. There are many methods to solve any math problem, and it's always best to allow the student to develop the manner in which he most easily understands. I enjoy helping others raise their grades in all their classes!
