Fun Facts

My home town is ten minutes from the Mexican border here in Texas. Although I was born in the United States, Spanish is my first language. I enjoy studying and learning about my culture and it's impact on the United States. When I'm not in school I enjoy writing, running cross country and enjoying the great out doors.

About Me

I am a Senior at Texas State University. In May I will be graduating with a bachelor's in Spanish and a minor in psychology. I plan to apply for the Bilingual School Psychology program at the university. My goal is to be accepted and help students in the Latin American community thrive to excellence.

Experience

Since I plan to work with a school district after receiving my masters. I feel that tutoring would be a great learning experience for both the child and myself. I am eager to begin to share my knowledge of the Spanish speaking language to anyone who is wanting to learn to do so. When I was in high school I was apart of the Americorp program. My job sight was working in an after school program helping elementary students with their homework.

Approach

I am a non traditional student who has struggled with ADHD since I was a child. Graduating college was something that seemed so far out of my reach for so long. For fear of falling into any stigmas I would avoid tutoring programs and developed a social anxiety. Now that I am aware of my full potential and have conquered my fears of social anxiety, I will share that guidance and motivation with my students that will reflect in their course work. I plan to help students regain their confidence.
