Fun Facts

I love being active and doing anything outdoors! Any time I'm not busy studying, I love dancing and playing sports. I have played soccer my entire life and I played tennis throughout high school. Another thing I love to do to for fun is play the piano. It is a great way for me to express myself and let go of unnecessary negative emotions. I also love to travel!

About Me

I am a freshman electrical engineering major at Johns Hopkins University. I had covered grades for first semester. I am also interested in going on the pre-med track. On campus, I work in an optoelectronics research lab. I am an active outdoors leader at Hopkins; my specialty is sea kayaking. I am also a member of the on latin american dancing team called Baila. I hope to become a doctor or an engineer.

Experience

During my senior year in high school, I worked as a tutor at Kumon. I helped kids ranging from preschool age to early high school age with math and reading several times a week. In addition to that, I am always eager to help my peers, if I am able to, when they find a certain subject challenging.

Approach

Growing up, Romanian was my first language, and the culture that I was surrounded by. As a child, this meant that I learned how to write in cursive and do math problems at home from my grandmother. Later, I was a part of the Kumon program for math. Therefore, throughout my years, I have done a lot of extra problems outside of school with a variety of mentors. Honing in on the different methods and strategies of my mentors, I feel that I can provide my students with valuable help and information.
