Fun Facts
Anyone who knows me can tell I'm a total bookworm. I love the idea of exploring different narratives and points of views through a variety of mediums. On any given weekend you can usually find me in yoga class followed by a trip to the local plant nursery. Whenever I'm not working as a laboratory analyst I spend most of my free time painting with watercolors and trying out new dessert recipes.
About Me
I'm a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor's degree of science in Biology. I'm currently working as a laboratory analyst for an animal nutrition company based in South Florida. My dream is to eventually obtain my pHD and become a full time science instructor. More than anything else, I want to help others become enthusiastic about learning and and engaging with the world around them.
Experience
Even as a high school student I was known for tutoring my fellow peers in writing and AP English, going so far as to graduate top of my class in that particular subject. Being a university student also afforded me the opportunity to become a leader in such programs as PLTL, leading discussions and tutoring students in such subjects as Biology. Additionally, I worked as a tutor for a variety of companies during my university years before becoming a Genetics laboratory instructor upon graduating.
Approach
Having a high school biology teacher as a mother taught me early on in life the importance of "approach" within the learning process. My own school days have been filled with warm and empathetic educators, people who knew how to make even the most tedious subjects interesting and engaging so that students would take it upon themselves to dig deeper and learn more. Helping young people to establish the study habits that will carry them throughout college and beyond is especially important to me.

Biology
AP English Tutoring
Having graduated from my high school top of my class in English (earning the Brother Charles Roggeman Award for English) and scoring in the 97th percentile for writing on the SAT I have always had a fondness for prose and poetry. I took AP Literature and Composition for the two years (junior and senior) that it was offered in my high school and scored a 4 on both annual exams.
Although university has led me to pursue a degree in biology, my experiences in AP English have still helped me to excel in my chosen field and made me eager to aid other students on that journey as well.
Biology Tutoring
As a biology major almost at the conclusion of her degree, I have ample experience with both studying and tutoring for the biological sciences. I have most of the required university classes for my area of expertise, including but not limited to Biology I, Biology II, Genetics, Cell Biology, Intermediate Physiology, Evolution, Immunology, and Ecology. Additionally, working outside of the classroom as a biotech lab assistant and ecology fieldwork assistant have given me much real world experience in the biological sciences.
