Fun Facts

I grew up in a small farming town in Illinois called Gridley. I am the middle child of two other brothers who are some of my best friends. I love basketball and grew up playing it throughout high school.

About Me

I am currently a senior at Lipscomb University majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. My wife and I moved to Nashville in June of 2012 for her dream job at Thomas Nelson, while I was able to transfer to continue my education. After Lipscomb, I plan to earn a degree from a physician's assistant school.

I have had the privilege to coach children in an elementary basketball league. Coaching is an experience like no other, especially when children are involved. Having the opportunity to show your passion and love for sports to children or young adults is unique. You have the chance to inspire those who have not lost hope in dreaming for something bigger than what they have already been given. My goal as an assistant head coach was not a winning season but to show them how they can be victorious in the face of defeat. I also have gained leadership experience through leading a men’s only small group through my college ministry. Leading fellow male students was a difficult position in which to be placed. I felt called to help those who needed a men’s small group because our college age ministry was lacking in male leadership. Courage and prayer were vital throughout that year because of my insecurity to lead well. Being a small group leader was not only beneficial for these men, but it also gave me the encouragement to pursue and conquer tasks that I would have not thought possible before I led.

Throughout my years as a student and leader I came to the conclusion that people have the power to inspire others. These relationships earn the right for those who are apart of them to trust one another. This trust in teachers creates a bond that will help students to believe that their best interest is in mind and is geared toward success.
