About Me
I am currently a junior, Health Management major at Howard University. I am a leadership scholar and member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I have interned and became a member of National Association of Health Service Executives - Baltimore Chapter summer 2015. I aspire to acquire a dual maters in Public Health and Business Administration and become a CEO of a pediatric hospital.
Experience
I have been a past Kingman Boys and Girls club tutor for the District of Columbia and have tutor youth members of Morning Star Baptist Church of Chicago- youth department ranging from pre-k to 8th grade.
Approach
My attitude towards teaching is encouraging a peaceful and positive reinforcing environment that allows the student to work most effectively. I encourage to teach them skills that are necessary for school and play, for example being consistent and organized but also being able to articulate their problems and reasoning.

Health Management
Homework Coach Tutoring
Homework is an important part of the learning process and sometimes is cut short with parents work schedules.When it comes to homework time especially with my nieces and nephews who are in middle school, I am encouraging and patient, which allows them to be less stressed and open to figuring out problems effectively with my assistance.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension is an important part of the learning process especially at the middle school age where testing is apart of the curriculum. When it comes to reading comprehension I always encourage the use of dictionaries to introduce or explain words that the student may not understand, then I always ask what does this mean in your own words. I encourage reading grade level books or books one grade above said grade level everyday to build confidence in reading comprehension and also confidence in reading out loud and reading with speed.
Science Tutoring
I am currently a science/business major currently. I have excelled in chemistry throughout high school and college and I also was an AP Biology student in high school. I have not tutored in science specifically, but through my personal experiences I believe that I have effective tools to assist with memorizing terminology and functions of the terms.
Study Skills Tutoring
I am a graduate of Advanced Via Individual Determination ( AVID) learning school which is a college readiness program that specifically enhances students study skills. Studying is apart of the learning process for students who aren't prepared prior to performance usually do not excel. I will introduce your child to effective ways to appropriately study, plan,organize.
English Tutoring
I specifically helped with grades 3-8 supporting reading comprehension and word selection. My experience was very rewarding for many of the students I tutored excelled in and outside of the classroom. With english specifically I am very patient ,yet very stern with effective communication.
Elementary Math Tutoring
Math is a fundamental part of my life. Growing up with a Math teacher for a parent, I always excelled in math even through college. I have only tutored students with elementary math so far and am willing to expand to middle school. I am very patient and encourage fun games and extra practice assignments to build confidence and knowledge of the curriculum.
