I am very focused on education but most importantly getting others excited about learning. I love nature and walking in parks. I write poetry as well. I love playing basketball and football as well. I do not dance much but feel alive when I TRY to sing lol.
About Me
My name is Jabril Johnson. I am a Ph.D Candidate in the Genetics program at Howard University. I Graduated with my B.S from University of Maryland of Eastern Shore Summa Cum Laude in Biology. After attaining my Ph.D I have already accepted a job in Missouri as a Post-Doc at Washington University of St Louis. In addition to my PhD in Genetics I am also receiving a teaching certificate that reinforces and qualifies me to use my PhD effectively in and out of the classroom.
Experience
As a recipient of the Alliance for Graduate and Educational Professional fellowship I receive training from top renowned educators and participated in several COMPACT teaching for diversity workshops tailored to give me cutting edge experience in teaching in the classroom or to a large audience. I have taught several courses at the college level including: Biology 101, Biology 102, Bio Anthropology, Genetics and more. I taught high school AP students Plant Biotechnology. I also taught ages 5-12
Approach
My approach is simple yet unique. Each child and student are intelligent and can learn. It boils down to confidence and being excited about the subject matter. With those two any child or student would be able to grow into the comprehension that is necessary to utilize in an applicable manner the knowledge they receive or are taught to retain.
