Fun Facts
I am a constantly active person -- you'll often find me reading, working out or enjoying a leisurely day with my mates. I cherish my relationships dearly, whether its with my classmates, teachers, or family. I am an empathetic person and I will try to my upmost ability to help others. I am a music-addict -- I am always trying to expand my musical sphere. While I do listen to a lot of music, I am also a pianist of 12 years. I live for football, track & field, ping pong, and good Chinese food.
About Me
I am a graduate from the Illinois Math and Science Academy. I will be attending the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, pursuing a degree in Bioengineering this fall. I decided from a young age that I would be a professor in college - a teacher - in the future. I have been striving to reach that goal ever since. If asked the generic question - what three adjectives would your friends describe you as - I'd respond with genuine, enthusiastic, and concise -- I don't cut any corners.
Experience
As an Atlas Tutor (Tutored students in SAT and ACT. Atlas Tutors is an SAT and ACT prep service run entirely by students.), I offered students the knowledge and experiences I had garnered through my own struggles and successes with standardized tests. In high school, I was a writing center tutor as well as a peer tutor in math, chemistry, and physics. These experiences reaffirmed my aspiration and eagerness to work with others who are both my friends and tutees. I hope to continue this ambition.
Approach
Having struggled with certain subjects and standardized tests since elementary school, I know what tutees are going through. But, I wouldn't be where I am today, pursuing a degree in bioengineering, if I hadn't accumulated a set of tricks and techniques to help me understand dense material. In short: I help tutees learn how to learn. With my experience in tutoring and my enthusiasm and willingness to help others, I can be an asset to all tutees.

Bioengineering
Calculus I Tutoring
I completed this class my second semester of Sophomore year in high school. The class was an accelerated course that combined Calculus 1 and 2. I received a grade of B+.
Calculus 2 Tutoring
I completed this class my first semester of Junior year in high school. The class was an accelerated course that combined Calculus 1 and 2. I received a grade of B+.
Calculus 3 Tutoring
I completed this class my second semester of Junior year in high school. The class covered concepts in Multivariable Calculus. I received a grade of A.
Chinese Tutoring
As a American Born Chinese, I am fluent in Chinese. I took several years of Chinese school and am familiar with the curriculum. I also received a 5 on AP Chinese.
College Algebra Tutoring
All academic classes at the Illinois Math and Science Academy are college preparatory. Having taken Algebra in junior high and high school, I am adept at fundamental algebra.
Organic Chemistry I Tutoring
I completed this class my first semester of Senior year in high school. I am familiar with the material and lab procedures. I received a grade of A.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I completed this course my first semester of Sophomore year. I am very familiar with this material and tutored several students in this class. I received a grade of A.
Trigonometry Tutoring
I completed this course my second semester of Freshman year in high school. The course was a combination of Algebra 2 with Trigonometry. I received a grade of A.
Writing Tutoring
I was a writing center at the Illinois Math and Science Academy for two years. I tutored students with their writings in all subjects. Only 2% of students were qualified to be a writing center tutor.
Algebra Tutoring
I have taken several courses that incorporated Algebra. I am very familiar with the material and have acquired skills and tricks to become adept at it. I have received A's in all Algebra classes.
Algebra II Tutoring
I have taken several courses that incorporated Algebra 2. I am very familiar with the material and have acquired skills and tricks to become adept at it. I have received A's in all Algebra 2 classes.
Calculus Tutoring
I have taken several courses that incorporated Calculus (accelerated Calculus 1,2,3 courses) . I am very familiar with the material and have acquired skills and tricks to become adept at it.
Calculus AP Tutoring
I received a 5 on the Calculus AP after completing two accelerated courses that covered material in Calculus 1 and 2.
Geometry Tutoring
I have taken several courses that incorporated Geometry (high school geometry and Modern Geometries - high-level conceptual geometry). I am very familiar with the material and have acquired skills and tricks to become adept at it.
Math Tutoring
I consider myself very adept at mathematics. Through the years, I have garnered a plethora of tricks that have helped me succeed in many math courses.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I have taken several courses that incorporated Pre Algebra. I am very familiar with the material and have acquired skills and tricks to become adept at it.
SAT Math Tutoring
I received a score of 800 on SAT Math II. I have also tutored in this subject and am very familiar with the structure and material covered in the exam.
ACT English Tutoring
I received a score of 35 on ACT English. As an Atlas Tutor, I have tutored several students who were struggling in this subject area and seen much improvement in their overall understanding of the material.

I received a score of 35 on ACT Math. As an Atlas Tutor, I have tutored several students who were struggling in this subject area and seen much improvement in their overall understanding of the material.

I received a score of 34 on ACT Reading. As an Atlas Tutor, I have tutored several students who were struggling in this subject area and seen much improvement in their overall understanding of the material.

I received a score of 230 on the PSAT. As an Atlas Tutor, I have tutored several students who were struggling in this subject area and seen much improvement in their overall understanding of the material.
Piano Tutoring
I have played piano for 12 years and garnered success in many scholarship competitions. I completed Level 12 in AIM this past year.
