About Me
I have a chemistry degree from the University of Utah. I have taken multiple math, biology, and physics courses from both the Salt Lake Community College and University of Utah. I enjoy learning and teaching. I have 4 brothers, two older and two younger. I love helping people and am happy doing it.
I have done various science activities for kids with the American Chemistry Society at elementary schools. I have helped parents returning to college obtain student skills and learn the curriculum. I have also helped uninterested middle school teens be able to do their math and perform on their tests resulting in multiple letter grade jumps! I have other tutoring experiences that range from college chemistry tutoring to math placement test preparation.
I like to find out the student's weaknesses and strengths, interests, and goals. The subject can be much more enjoyable if it can be applied to the student's life. Whether it be cartoons, food, clothes, cars, money, etc. the subjects become relatable to the student and can be understood and recalled more easily even after the study session. By tweaking the viewpoint of the student, it allows the student to understand the questions and find the answers on their own. Filtering out a lot of the textbook/classroom jargon simplifies concepts to encourage greater success.
