About Me
I was born in Dallas and did my schooling here in Houston. I graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2006 and went on to The University of Texas at Austin to major in Human Biology and also did a double minor in Chemistry and Business. I am currently in grad school finishing my last semester as an M.S. student in biological sciences at UHCL.
I have always had an inclination for teaching. My mom is a 1st grade teacher and during summers I would work as an assistant teacher teaching remedial math and science to students in preparation of the TAKS. At UT Austin I participated in the UTEACH program. In this program we would go to local schools in the Austin area and teach the students there science related topics and experiments in preparation for their end of year tests.
My houston">tutoring approach focuses on learning the concepts involved with whatever subject the student has trouble with. I believe it is important for the student to learn these so that he can answer future questions in this topic and can also build on this knowledge and be successful in the next stage of courses. It is also important to be approachable. I want to be able to make my students feel comfortable to ask me any questions they have. My main goal is to help the student in any way I can and to make sure the student is successful in their subject.
