Fun Facts
I LOVE to sing! I wish that I took it more seriously, however, it's just something I really enjoy for now. I am the captain of my University's club basketball team where we travel out of state on weekends to play in tournaments. I have three siblings and our ages range from 7 to 30 years. My goal is to be the first in my family to graduate a 4-year University so that I can set an example for my younger brothers and the youth that look up to me.
About Me
I am a graduating Senior Elementary Education major at Howard University. I am originally from the Bay Area, CA. Upon graduation I plan to stay and teach for the District of Columbia Public School System. My long term goal is to extend my skills beyond the classroom and become a dynamic educational leader.
Experience
As a a Reading Partners tutor, I conducted weekly tutor sessions with K-5 students to help increase their literacy skills. As a student teacher I organized and executed 5th grade math tutor sessions to aid students in internalizing difficult concepts. Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to fine tune these skills and reach a greater tutee audience.
Approach
Growing up with a single-mother I was consistently encouraged to strive for academic excellence. My mother pushed me to think critically about concepts that I was least confident in. She was not always able to assist me. So, with her support I sought out tutors to help increase my comprehension and study skills. As a future educator I wholeheartedly believe that it is my civic duty to help students
