Homework Coach Tutoring

As a college student, I have faced multiple challenges that have interfered with my being able to complete assignments in a timely and effective fashion. I have learned from my mistakes, however, and have developed many study and time management skills that would help any student. I'm also a great motivator and I'm understanding of the struggles that people face. I'm able to work with students to create realistic goals, to push them, and to help them communicate a need for help.

I'm very familiar with many important events and concepts in world history. I've taken courses on Ancient and Medieval History at community college, and I've aced all my other history courses. I would be able to help students create associations that will aid them in recalling dates and information. I'm also a very interactive teacher, so I would be able to connect with the student using videos and movies, museum exhibits, historical fiction, and more.

As a Political Science major, it is necessary for me to have a great understanding of history, economics, government, and sociology. My knowledge in these areas will serve me well in teaching social studies at the elementary level. I'm also able to condense complex information and make it easier to remember and to grasp.

Spanish Tutoring

I've taken two course in Spanish language at the college level, and would be able to teach the basics of Spanish grammar and vocabulary to a young student easily. I've also tutored a student of 9 in this subject and she learned quickly.

PSAT Tutoring

I am very capable at teaching the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the PSAT, as I received a very good score on my SAT (800 and 660 respectively). I can assist with the Mathematics section by helping students work through practice problems and teaching them time management.

International Studies Tutoring

As a political science major, I've taken a course in International Relations and received an A. I've also taken other courses with an International focus. I'm an avid reader of the news, and would be able to help student analyze current international events in terms of culture, politics, religion, and environmental policies.

I taken courses on ancient Greek mythology and religion as well as early Christianity. I also have delved into several research projects that dealt with Judaism. In addition to this specialized viewpoint, I am also familiar with the history and philosophy of most major religions including, but not limited to, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and the New Age faiths.
