Fun Facts
I have held quite a number of leadership positions on campus, and I’m currently the Vice Chair of IEEE, Morgan State University Chapter. I was also a member of a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring program called Foundation of Mathematics and I later graduated and became a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor of incoming freshmen under that same program. I enjoy swimming, reading and communicating with people.
About Me
I am currently a senior, scheduled to graduate in December 2013, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I am a Regents scholar at Morgan State University required to maintain a 3.6 minimum GPA each semester. At school, I have been a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor in both volunteer and paid positions, helping students on campus, as well as high school students, to achieve higher grade point averages.
One of my biggest strengths is my communication skills. I work very well with all kinds of people, and understand that everyone has different paradigms, so to successfully make an impact in their lives, you have to be willing to see from their point of view – and I have tutored and mentored middle-school, high school and college freshmen. For example, as a Foundation of Mathematics maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">Tutor, I mentored several incoming-freshmen and I saw that they were initially unwilling to open themselves up and most of them were content with mediocrity – I kept that in mind when I communicate tasks that need to be accomplished with positive reinforcement and awareness of what others are working on.
Also, I pride myself in being able to understand instructions the first time they are given and hence, communicate this effectively to my clients. I have genuine interest and full commitment– I believe that when it comes to performing a task, people who do not have a genuine interest in such should not venture into the field. This is because when they are faced with a challenge, it gets really frustrating and they eventually lose interest- it becomes routine and monotonous. For me, that’s the exciting part – being able to develop a solution to any problem I encounter.
