Fun Facts

Born in Wyoming, and raised in Wisconsin, I have lived in every state starting with a W excluding West Virginia. My favorite cities include washington/seattle">Seattle WA, washington/vancouver">Vancouver B.C., Prague CZ, and Chicago IL. My favorite rainy day activities include cooking and reading good books. Someday I would like to bike or hike across the United States.

About Me

I am a Junior at washington/seattle">seattle-university">washington/seattle">Seattle University, majoring in Economics with a Minor in Mandarin Chinese. I love to learn new things both in and out of school. I hope to continue studying post-graduation with a MBA or graduate work in Economics.

During a high-school gap year in the Czech Republic I was given the opportunity to washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor my classmates in English. This was one of my favorite experiences of the year. I loved working with them and seeing how quickly people could understand difficult subjects when someone took the time to focus on them.

As the youngest of five children, I was lucky to always have a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor around. I owe much of my academic success to the patience and persistent encouragement of my siblings. As encouraging as they were, they were challenging as well. Instead of giving me the answer they would, in true sibling fashion, help me to find it for myself. I have found that this is the most effective way to learn anything, and as a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor I focus on helping students discover the answer for themselves rather then providing an easy answer. An important part of this is giving them strategies to study, review, and apply the content they are learning.
