I've traveled the world helping people climb mountains they never thought were possible. I turn that experience into a technique that allows me to show kids how to reach goals they never knew they could reach.

About Me

I am a 4th grade teacher for Mukilteo School District, now in my third year. I graduated with honors from University of Houston in 2013. My ultimate goal is to work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation after getting my Master's Degree.

Experience

I have worked 7 years as a nanny for three families before teaching, this allowed me to get experience in small groups, as well as large class settings.

Approach

My approach to teaching is project-based learning that focuses primarily on having students engage in explorations of real-world problems and challenges. Through these explorations, they develop their content knowledge, but also develop solutions to problems. This approach to teaching functions to engage students that may be disinterested in traditional content because it allows them to identify problems in their community or the world at large that they want to solve
