Fun Facts
Traveling, writing, and reading are my three biggest passions in life. I have been to twelve countries outside of the United States and hope to live in Ireland one day. I am working on a novel as we speak with plans of publication. I also really love the brain which is why I majored in Psychology. I'm a huge fan of animals- especially dogs!
About Me
I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I obtained a double minor in English and Nonviolence and Peace Studies-which is a unique minor to URI! I plan on going on for my PhD in Clinical Psychology with plans of becoming a Psychologist and ambitions to open a private practice.
Throughout my college career I was a nanny and babysitter for two different families. Part of this duty was homework help. It was perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of my job as it was great to work one on one with the kids and make sure they understood the material. In high school I became a Feinstein Junior Mentor and was assigned to a local elementary school where I was able to work with students, helping them through their homework and studying. I found both experiences extremely rewarding! I think education is very important and I would love to help many students succeed in school.
Helping students find their own solution to problems is extremely important. When working with a student it is important to identify their concerns and issues and figure out how they learn successfully as every student is different. As someone who has always been a close reader and avid writer, I would love to help students see how reading and writing can be fun and creative. It is always a wonderful feeling to succeed in a topic that one is struggling through and having persistence and patience is important.
