Fun Facts
I have been able to live in a variety of places in the past several years, including Utah, California, Iowa, and Missouri. I love to travel and spend time with my family. I also love to play games, such as board games and card games of all varieties. Luckily, I have a family and friends who humor me and play with me. Other than that, I enjoy cooking breakfast food, making milkshakes, and experiencing new things!
About Me
I am currently a senior at the University of Utah, pursuing an honors degree in biochemistry. In this pursuit, I have become well acquainted with all of the sciences, as well as with a variety of lab methods and procedures. I am currently in the process of applying for medical school. And, as much as I love the sciences, I really enjoy literature classes as well, and am always happy with a good book.
Over the course of the previous academic year, I was a supplemental instruction leader for the general physics classes at the university of utah. This meant that I held 3 sessions a week where students could come and recive extra help in their physics studies. I also have tutored various individuals independently throughout the years, primarily in chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
I believe people learn best by doing. Therefore, as a tutor, my whole goal is to facilitate the student taking action and learning things for themselves. I love to ask questions which will lead the student to think critically and gain a deeper understanding of the reasoning behind the problem-solving mechanisms employed for a given subject. I would hope to inspire them to also consider not just how to solve a problem, but why we solve it in a given way, and how other situations would require similar or different modes of thinking.
