Fun Facts
I'm a hobby photographer. I have traveled to over twenty countries and lived in four including Spain (where I studied Spanish) and South Africa. I am originally from the Caribbean.
About Me
I am a PhD Student in Computing. I hold a Bachelors in science/georgia/atlanta">Computer Science and Spanish and a Masters in Information Technology (Human-Computer Interaction). I have experience working with people from different cultures and countries. I completed my Master's thesis research in South Africa where I had a chance to apply my love for technology with my passion for helping others by designing a mobile application to help with water quality management.
Experience
I understand the importance of having a good education. I started atlanta">tutoring as a volunteer in an after-school program in an inner-city community in Charleston, SC. I then moved to Atlanta where I continued to help with after-school atlanta">tutoring for various subjects for middle school kids. In college I served as a Teaching Assistant for college level classes where I also had an opportunity to teach a session.
Approach
My approach is to assess a student's level and find out where there are gaps in their understanding. Once I have done that I work to fill those gaps through examples. Then I have them work on problems on their own with some guidance. After that I have them walk me through how they got to that answer or were able to accomplish a problem.
