Fun Facts

I love to read, watch movies, and spend time with my friends and family. I am bilingual (English and Japanese) and am passionate about learning new words and new languages. I also enjoy taking dance, pilates, and yoga classes.

About Me

I graduated UCLA in June 2015 with a major in English and minors in Asian Humanities and Applied Developmental Psychology. During my undergraduate career, I worked as a research assistant in the Language and Cognitive Development Lab and a lab manager in the Baby Lab. I conducted and completed my own research project on children's bilingual development and acquired the opportunity to present my research at several different conferences!

I currently work in education and the arts. My ultimate career goal is to work in arts and yoga education.

Experience

Previously, I was a teacher at LMU and provided care and education for children ages 3 weeks to 6 years. I also worked with children ages 3 months to 3 years at UCLA Infant Development Program. I am now a Reader and Mentor for BookPALS and Young Storytellers, where I use the arts to teach and mentor elementary, middle, and high school students. I also teach dance and karate to children ages 3 to 18. I love teaching students, and I am grateful that Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to do so!

Approach

My favorite teachers are the ones who are passionate about teaching and are always willing to help. As a tutor, I attempt to bring this positive attitude to my sessions so that students can enjoy the learning experience. I feel that it is my responsibility to not only help students feel comfortable with new material but also encourage persistence and confidence in learning.
