Fun Facts
When people get to know me, they immediately see that spending time with my family is one of the most important parts of my life. I have a sister who is a year and a half older than me (so one can imagine the arguments), and sometimes it seems like she is all I talk about. We both have a very close relationship with our whole family. I like to be outgoing and energetic, but I also love some quiet time to myself just to relax.
About Me
I am a freshman attending carroll-university">John carroll-university">Carroll University this year. I am currently enrolled in Honors classes, and enjoying them more than I had expected. Tentatively, I am thinking of majoring in Biochemistry, although I cannot declare till next year. Overall, I want to take the MCAT and go off to Medical School. It would be a dream of mine to be able to be doctor when I am older.
When I was a junior and senior in high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society. One main part of my participation in this club was to be apart of the after school cleveland">tutoring center that my high school offered. I would cleveland">tutoring kids in any subject in any grade level, or just answer a few of their questions when they had them. It was always so rewarding when a student I was cleveland">tutoring came up with the right answer after multiple failed attempts!
Through my own personal experience with the teacher I had for Calculus, I adapted my own cleveland">tutoring style. I like to make sure the student understands a basic concept of the subject matter before going into detail. It was always helpful for me when teachers generalized things, then gave me specifics. I also learned from that Calcluus teacher that giving a student the answer is never going to really help them. I like to ask questions, point out main equations or points needed, and give hints to what the student must do to get an answer. I believe that when a student comes up with the answer them self, they learn the material so much better!
