About Me
I am a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in politics, philosophy and economics (PPE). Through this broad major, I plan to widen my knowledge base and enhance my critical thinking skills to eventually pursue a career in law or public policy. I have always pursued a broad range of interests and strived to obtain a well rounded knowledge base. I am currently involved in many extracurricular activities including: Orchestra, Boxing, Soccer, the Europenn organisation and greek life.
Experience
During my junior and senior years, I tutored high school students in maths on a weekly basis as part of the IB community and service program. For this same program I gave up my lunch hour once a week to tutor my high school maths teacher in French. I have also tutored middle school children, helping them with their homework.
Approach
Tutoring goes well beyond teaching course material or preparing for a tests. Tutoring must inspire and instil the love of learning. In order to stimulate and enhance the desire to learn, difficulties must be tackled from a number of perspectives and must consider different approaches to learning. Through this process, tutoring is tailored to the needs and capacities of students. A passion for learning must be accompanied by positive encouragement and study skills to ensure a successful outcome.
