Fun Facts

I love to travel, and I would love to study abroad or just go out and see the world someday! I love to read, write, sing and dance. My favorite colors are pink and yellow and my favorite food is cheesecake! My music taste varies, but my recent tastes this year have been in country, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Chris Brown, and late 90s music. I am the oldest of 4 and my youngest sister is 12 years younger than me! I love kids and just enjoy being around people in general!

About Me

I am a junior majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Spanish at the University of Missouri Kansas City. I am majoring in Chemistry because I enjoy science and it covers all the prerequisites I need to apply to dental school, and I am minoring in Spanish because I think it is a beautiful language and I want to be able to speak it fluently.I would like to attend UMKC dental school after I graduate, so I am working hard at building my resume and getting good grades. I would like to be a dentist when I grow up!

In the past, I have worked with different age groups and have been both a tutor and mentor. In high school, I was a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and earlier in college, I was a YouthFriends mentor. I have worked primarily with elementary and middle school children and have helped them with homework in different subjects.

I work on understanding what problem or question the student has to understanding a concept, and I break it down in little pieces.After I teach the concept, I ask the student to teach it back to me, and I will ask follow up questions to make sure the student really understood the concept. There is no such thing as a silly question, and I want my students to feel comfortable in asking me questions. Everyone thinks in their own unique way and I want to show my students how to be confident in their work and that learning is awesome!
