Fun Facts
I played soccer all throughout high school. I was a captain during my senior year and I really enjoyed being a role model for my younger teammates, including my younger sister. One of my biggest goals is to travel to all fifty states after I graduate. After that I want to travel to every continent. Teaching is universal so I could take my profession around the world broadening my cultural knowledge and helping kids along the way.
About Me
I am currently a junior at Quinnipiac University with a major in mathematics and a minor in Spanish. I am also currently in the Masters in the Arts of Teaching program and I will graduate with a certification in secondary education. I hope to one day go to graduate school to receive my Ph.D. in mathematics. I have made Dean's list two years in a row. I studied abroad in Australia and have gained an appreciation for the American schooling system that I wish to uphold.
During my summer breaks each year I put up flyers around my home town informing people that I am connecticut/new-haven">tutoring. I have received a few clients from my town and also neighboring towns from this method of advertisement. I also have received work through teachers from my middle school and high school. It is impossible for them to be able to help all their students outside of school so I am helping ensure everyone gets the attention that they need. I have also tutored unprofessionally to my friends and roommates in college. So I have tutored all different levels of students. I think that it is very important to create a relationship with the person you are connecticut/new-haven">tutoring.
One of my motivations for wanting to become a connecticut/new-haven">tutor and eventually a teacher is my education experience. I was a very shy child growing up and spent my lunch period with my guidance counselor playing with finger puppets and creating ways to help me deal with the stressful school days. I can remember how important it was to have this creative and supportive outlet to talk to each day during this time of my life. Many of my teachers had a very positive effect on me by encouraging me to be the best that I can be. It was nice knowing that someone believed in me and that drove me forward to do well in school. I want to be a motivating outlet for kids. I know that school can be a bit dry at times but it doesn’t have to be that way. My goal is to give kids the one-on-one attention they need to get excited about learning and make them want to be the best that they can be!
