Fun Facts

Lets see...some fun facts! I am a 2nd generation Italian (my grandfather is from Sicily and my grandmother is from Naples). I have run a few half marathons and I'm starting training for an Ironman in 2017! (Long term planning...haha).

About Me

I am an Industrial Engineering graduate from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. After graduating in May of 2014 I moved to Long Beach, CA for a big change of scenery and to experience the other side of the country! I worked at Kings Hawaiian for a year and then quit to reevaluate what career I want to work in and to go back to school to get my masters.

I am an avid biker and like to keep active by working out and doing anything and everything outside. I played rugby in college and love team sports (both watching and playing!).

Experience

I have been involved with formal tutoring since 9th grade when I was apart of Mu Alpha Theta (A math honor society at my highschool). In this organization we offered free tutoring after school in all levels of math. After this experience I worked with a company called Mathnasium where I tutored between 15-20 students in levels ranging from 3rd grade math up to 12th grade. Approach

My tutoring philosophy is a very basic one but I believe it can work for anyone. Whether or not you're working on a complex calculus problem or a simpler algebraic equation, every problem simplifies down to a clear step-by-step progression to get to the right answer. Once the student can see this step-by-step progression for him or herself and breaks it down on their own, then any math problem (or any problem really) can be tackled this way and that's what makes it worth it.
