About Me
I am from Bulgaria. I have a bachelors degree in Finance and masters in Public Administration. I have almost completed my associate's degree in Education at JCCC, and my ultimate goal is to become a school counselor.
Experience
I currently work in SMSD and I have four years of experience in the Special Education field. The age group that I'm primarily working with is K-2grade, but I have worked with third and fourth graders as well. At the moment I am tutoring a third grader on his reading comprehension skills and we've achieved a great success for only few weeks.
Approach
Along with the regular school work, as I child I had to learn Russian and English languages as well. Later I attempted to learn German as well. Learning foreign languages has helped me to become persistent and experienced in Language Arts as a whole. As a tutor I am willing to share my experience and skills with my new friends.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I help students to draw on background knowledge, to make predictions, visualize the events of a text, recognize confusion, and identify the main idea as they read. I help them build confidence and persistence on the subject, and I teach them strategies.
Math Tutoring
I help students understand the concepts of math and I teach them a variety of strategies from which they can choose. Teaching special education gives me a lot of experience with the unique needs of every student and a variety of ways to help.
English Tutoring
I have four years of experience in the special education field and I have worked with various grade levels. I am bilingual and I help students develop stronger Language Arts skills and foreign language students develop English language reading and writing skills.
