Fun Facts
I have a passion for traveling and exploring. So far, I have been across Mexico and also Central America. I love to meet new people and explore different cultures. I love to ride my road bike and also like to hike. I am the middle child of a family of 5. One day I plan to teach abroad in Asia.
About Me
I am a junior at San Diego State University. I am enrolled full time and I am graduating next summer with a Bachelors in Spanish and a minor in Linguistics. I am planing on teaching abroad for a short term then settling down and achieve my masters.
Experience
I have worked several jobs from retail until now, education. I have been working for the San Diego Unified School District for over 2 years now. I assist in classrooms from CDC all the way up to high schools. I am a substitute teacher's assistant, I provide extra help for the teacher and work one on one with kids who need the extra help.Working for Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to keep interacting with kids and helping them achieve their goals like I've been for the past two years.
Approach
As a child, I struggled in elementary school especially coming to the United States with no English. School was already hard and learning English made it even harder. Now that I have learned the language as well as most of the materials, I want to help students who had the similar problems as well, whether it was a subject or simply speaking the language and grammar. As a tutor, I feel like its my responsibility for the students to not only achieve, but to make a connection.

I have helped and tutored as a homework coach for about a year. I have developed strategies on keeping the students organized and on task.

I am familiar with elementary math as well. I have been working with elementary students as well and also tutored students.I have learned different ways of going about solving the problems.

I have substituted in a couple social studies classrooms and I am familiar with the subject being taught at the moment. I have been in different schools so I have seen the different topics being taught.

Worked ESL with various kids at the school district. Also currently majoring in teaching English as a second language at San Diego State University.
Macintosh Tutoring
I have had a Macintosh for the past 6 years. I am familiar with how to work it and get by. I have also fixed my own computer at times seeing that macs are really good and easy to use computers.

I have been doing power points for over 10 years now. I have several in college and top this day, I am still working on them.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have been using Microsoft word for over 10 years whether it is to make charts or just simply write a essay. I have very familiar with how to work it.
