Fun Facts
When I'm not working, I enjoy making products. My favorite vacation spot is anywhere near the water. Also., I grew up in California and as a Girl Scout, I was able to work on a float featured in the Rose Parade.
About Me
I am a Maternal and Child Health Educator/ Nutritionist. I have earned both bachelor's and master's degrees and I have experience is subject material related to Biology, Nutritional Sciences, Health, Heatlh Education. In addition, I have experience in insurance, specifically life insurance.
Experience
I began tutoring while I matriculated at Johnson C. Smith University in the Learning Center in Biology and Spanish. When I graduated, I worked briefly at the YMCA as a tutor working with elementary school students as a homework coach. I have also worked as an online instructional coach assisting professors and students at the college level in a variety of course subjects.
Approach

I engage with the student to get to know them and what they enjoy doing outside of school. I always like to see how much they know before getting into what they don’t understand. I like to end sessions with a quiz or question to see what the student gained from the session.

MastersSpanish I Tutoring
During undergrad I took courses in Elementary Spanish 2 and received an A. I had Spanish in high school which allowed me to go into Spanish 2 in college. I use Spanish daily on the job when communicating with clients. Although I am not fluent I am able to speak more than elementary Spanish.
Biology Tutoring
As a Biology major I took courses in Embryology and Cell Biology. I obtained a grade of A in Cell Biology and an A in Embryology. I found study groups beneficial in these topics to help in remembering the details
Pre Algebra Tutoring
As an undergrad student I took Intermediate Algebra and received an A. This was beneficial in helping middle school students with their work especially since the Math is so much more advance since I was a student at that level. I would be able to provide the same assistance at the high school level.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I understand the importance of having good study skills. I began adopting study habits in middle school and they have carried me on to college and in my graduate studies. Based on my academic training and experience I feel I would be a good homework coach.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have education in higher math so elementary math is also a subject that I can tutor. I have experience tutoring elementary school students while serving as a tutor with the YMCA.
