Fun Facts
I like to think of myself as a music fan of sorts, having sung in choirs and ensembles and having played the violin, guitar and alto saxophone. I also like to listen to a wide variety of music, from country to classical, and I appreciate when people suggest new artists for me to listen to! I also enjoy staying relatively fit - nowadays I've been trying to get into hiking and biking. One day, I will also conquer winter sports, but until then, light jogs in nice weather and swimming indoors for me
About Me
I am currently a sophomore at Fordham University pursuing a Bacherlor of Science degree as a biology major with an intended philosophy minor. I was on the Dean's List for the 2011-2012 academic year and am currently in the top 10% of Fordham's class of 2015. I hope to one day obtain my medical degree to become a physician, but I also may pursue a career in education or research.
My experience as a bronx">tutor began in my junior year of high school through the National Honor Society. From there, I began bronx">tutoring peers in classes such as physics and calculus AB and was given a positive referral by one of my professors for doing so. During my senior year of high school, I also mentored a seventh grader for a few months in various subjects. More recently, I tutored two sisters in high school geometry in preparation for their Regents exam and was then recommended to other parents as a general high school math bronx">tutor. Now, I try to help any student I come across, whether it be a peer in one of my classes or children of coworkers, in any way that I can.
Having sat through many classes, I realize it is necessary to have a strong foundation as a student in order to reach the best of my capabilities. I personally believe that studies must be approached from a holistic view, always taking a step back to see and understand the big picture in addition to the fine details. In order to understand the big picture, one must start from the self by staying organized and timely, to name a few, to become a good student as a whole. Furthermore, I believe that each person learns and understands things differently and therefore, it is imperative to tailor my thinking as well to help the student learn.. how to learn better (something those science folk termed "long term potentiation!").
