I love tennis, piano, good movies, all music (except bluegrass), a good laugh and a large steak with mashed potatoes. Warm weather is my favorite. I like engineering.
About Me
I am a first year at Georgia Tech majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in German. I got Dean's List last semester!! I plan on working abroad for a german car company after I graduate, and then I'll see where I go from there!
Experience
For my first year here at Georgia Tech, I have had the opportunity to volunteer tutor at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School once every week. During high school, I tutored Biology and Algebra from my sophomore year through senior year. I also taught piano lessons my senior year of high school, and held tennis lessons as a fund raiser the fall of my senior year.
Approach
I tend to start with the basics and then work up from there. Every student is different and requires varying approaches to learning, but I think beginning with the highlights of the core of a chapter, and then talking through problems and explaining why it is that they work/ the student's thought process is crucial to deep understanding of the subject. It can also help find areas that the student might not have known they needed help on. I also like to help with study and test taking skills!

AP English Tutoring
I love English! I read every night even though I am studying engineering. I can help with anything from vocab to reading comprehension. I got a 5 on the AP Literature exam, and an A in my English 2 class here at Georgia Tech.
Biology Tutoring
I got a 4 on the AP Biology exam, and A's in both my honors freshman biology class and my senior AP Biology class in high school. I tutored Biology throughout high school to three different clients.
Calculus Tutoring
I got a 4 on the AP Calculus exam last spring, and now I have taken Calculus 2 (or BC) here at Georgia Tech. Next fall I will be taking multivariable calculus.

I got a 4 on the AP Macroencomics exam, and I was in a Finance Program in High School where I started a jewelry business (that I still own) and went to New York to visit the stock exchange. I understand Economics and am very enthusiastic about it.

I have taught Geometry and Algebra this past Fall, and I got an A in all of my high school math classes. My current classes are very math heavy, so I have experience in the subject. I can help with anything from postulates to trigonometry.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I love reading. Although I am an engineering student, I read the classics every night (i'm serious). I want students to feel comfortable reading so that they can understand and enjoy the material. I got a 5 on the AP Literature exam and a 4 on the AP Language exam. My reading score on the SAT was in the top percentile.
Science Tutoring
Throughout high school, I got A's in all of my science classes. (I was the only person to get an A in my chemistry class). I am passionate about it and I love teaching it. I tutored Biology for 3 years in high school.
Study Skills Tutoring
As a top student, I am well versed in time management, effective studying methods and test taking skills. At the core of all academics are great study skills.

I have taken piano lessons since the age of 7. I have not played intensively in the last year, but I have a immense experience with beginners and intermediate piano. Last year I taught beginner piano once a week to a 5 year old and an 8 year old.
MATLAB Tutoring
I am currently in a computer science class learning MatLab language. I am doing well on the tests and homework. Because this school is rigorous, I am definitely qualified to teach beginner MatLab
