Fun Facts
The thing about me that surprises people is that I'm a huge music fan! From the Moonlight Sonata to Snoop Dogg, I figuring out what kind of story a song is telling. And when I'm not cramming for tests, I play intramural soccer and cook gourmet TV dinners.
About Me
I am a rising junior and Math and Computer Science major at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and my minors are in physics, financial economics and music. I've also been playing the piano for 17 years! I continue to take private lessons at Vanderbilt's music school. After college, I want to work as an analyst before eventually returning to grad school for my MBA.
Experience
I've worked at Vanderbilt's physics tutoring center for a year now, and have had the opportunity to tutor younger students in mechanics and electromagnetism and other math skills. Before this, I gave piano lessons to my high schools teacher's two sons, and I've been helping my two little brothers and sister prepare for tests for years!
Approach
I think that the best way to teach material is by showing an example, and then explaining how to solve that problem, because that's the way that I learn. Understanding of the material then comes through broken down explanations of why things are the way that they are, but only after you've been presented a problem that makes the student curious.

Elementary Math Tutoring
Am a math major, and mathematics always came naturally to me as a young person. I have two little brothers and a sister, and have been helping them prepare for their tests since they were in kindergarten, and I love kids.
ACT English Tutoring
34 ACT composite, 32 English. Have written numerous college level papers, and I understand very well redundancy and grammar, which is what the English portion of the ACT focuses on.
ACT Math Tutoring
34 ACT composite, 32 on the math portion. Am a math major at Vanderbilt University, and I use advanced algebra on a daily basis, which is what will appear on the ACT's math portion.
ACT Reading Tutoring
Received a 36 on the ACT reading, 34 composite. I understand how to read the paragraphs quickly yet thoroughly and then dissect the reading questions.
Piano Tutoring
I've played the piano for 17 years, and I continue to take private lessons at Vanderbilt's music school, under a Ph. D with degrees from the Curtis Institute and the Manhattan School of Music. I have experience teaching the piano and have performed numerous works by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Chopin.
Computer Programming Tutoring
I'm a computer science major with experience in object-oriented design patterns in Java, C++, and have worked with Python code in the past. I've received A's or A-'s in all computer science classes and continue to learn software design.
Java Tutoring
Have developed simple apps in Java, and am very experienced in writing functional files, programs, and test code in IDES.
